BFC recommended for another 5 Year recertification in responsible forest management

BFC was certified in early 2010 (April) and undergoes annual surveillance to ensure BFC Certified Forest Management Unit operations continuously adhere to responsible forest management required standards. Additionally, every 5 years BFC undergoes a major re-assessment audit which is intended to renew its certification to provide its stakeholders and customers with assurances that the company’s forestry operations and products meet environmental, economic and social standards.

External certifications in the forestry sector remain key in ensuring sustainable and responsible forest management while meeting the increasing timber, wood and ecosystem services for customer satisfaction while enhancing social, economic and environmental aspects of Uganda and world at large.

For a company in the forestry business, obtaining such licenses and certificates issued by external entities and recognized worldwide is a form of commitment not only to the environment but the service offered to its customers.
